GENERAL
  • Can anyone purchase a workbook?

    • Yes, we sell our workbooks to schools, school districts (in the USA) and directly to teachers and students.

  • How do I place an order?
    • School / school district purchases (new customers):

      Any school choosing to make a purchase is required to fill out our Sales Agreement located on our order form (this is only required with the first purchase in order to set up an account with us), subsequent orders can be emailed, faxed, mailed or placed online.

      BIOZONE requires the Sales Agreement to be be signed by the Head of Department.

      Order forms with Sales Agreement can be downloaded from our Order page.

      The completed order form / Sales Agreement should be faxed or mailed with a copy of the school's purchase order to the nearest BIOZONE sales office.

      School purchases (existing customers):

      Schools already holding accounts with BIOZONE can place orders by fax, mail, telephone, online or email.

      Online orders can be placed and orders forms (for faxing or emailing) can be downloaded from our Order page.

      Private sales to students, parents and teachers:

      Individuals who are interested in making a private purchase directly through BIOZONE are not required to fill out an order form.

  • How do I pay for my order if I don't pay online by credit card?
    • UK, Australian and New Zealand customers:

      Payments sent with orders are welcome but please be aware that freight is charged in addition to the prices listed on our website and order forms.

      Private sales to teachers, students and parents must be prepaid by cheque or money order.
      Please contact us for a quote before sending payment with an order.

      Institutional customers in these countries may set up accounts with us - please contact your nearest sales office for details.

      International customers outside UK, Australia and New Zealand:

      We accept payment by wire (telegraphic transfer), bank draft, school or school district check (USA and Canada only).

  • Do you sell your products through bookshops and distributors?

    • We mainly sell directly to schools, teachers and students however we occasionally sell to bookshops and distributors.

  • I am a teacher - can I get an inspection copy of a workbook before I make a purchase for my class?
    • Yes, if you reside in New Zealand, Australia or the United Kingdom.

      Please contact your nearest sales office for more details.

      Customers outside New Zealand, Australia or the United Kingdom:

      we are unable to supply inspection copies as the cost of freight is prohibitive.

      We have sample pages of our publications for download from our website at the Free Samples page or our Preview CD-ROM
      (containing digital copies of our workbooks for review) may be purchased from our Order page.

      We offer free products if you attend one of our conference workshops - please check our News page regularly for conference dates.

  • Can I photocopy pages from any of the workbooks for my class?
    • No - absolutely NO PHOTOCOPYING, or duplication of our workbooks in any other way is permitted.

      Most of our course workbooks are revised and reprinted annually and we simply could not afford to continue updating the workbooks or keep the price so low if we allowed photocopying.

      Course Workbooks:
      We offer the option of purchasing a "class set" at the full purchase price rather than at the student discounted price in situations where schools cannot afford to purchase a workbook for each student. In this instance the workbooks are kept in class and used by more than one student. We do not recommend this as the workbooks are best used when ownership resides with each student; they can then write their answers in the workbook, tear out pages for marking, use for revision etc. The activities from our workbooks may be set as homework, classroom activities, or for review in preparation for exams.

  • How are the BIOZONE workbooks best used?
    • The activities from our workbooks may be set as homework, classroom activities, or for review in preparation for exams.

      Activities and exercises make up most of the content in the workbooks. These activities are designed to reinforce concepts learnt in the classroom.

      The activity pages may provide a way of introducing new concepts to students for the first time, or they may be used to test understanding of concepts already taught.

      In some cases the activities require the students to carry out background reading from a textbook, or other source of information.

      In the bottom corner of each activity is a code (e.g. RA2). This gives the teacher and student an idea of the type of activity and complexity of the activity (in this case R = Research outside the information on the page, A = Application of knowledge to solve a problem; 2 = some complex reasoning may be required).

  • Are freight charges included in the price?

    • No, our prices do not include freight charges since rates for delivery to different countries (and areas within a country) vary. Freight charges are invoiced as a separate item. Small parcels may be delivered by airmail, larger orders are usually shipped by courier or airfreight.

  • How long does delivery take?

    • Delivery times vary and will depend on your country of residence and size of order. The delivery time will be confirmed once you place an order or we can give you an approximate delivery time on request prior to placing an order.

  • How do I know how much freight will be before placing an order?
    • Credit card orders on our website:

      If you are placing a credit card order on our website the freight charge will be added automatically and can be viewed prior to confirming your order and entering your credit card details for payment.

      This freight charge will vary and depend on the size of your order and country of residence.

      We endeavour to keep this cost as low as possible and review our freight charges regularly.

      North American Customers (USA & Canada):

      The shipping rates for North American customers have been reviewed and we are offer discounted rates for 20 or more workbooks dispatched as a single consignment.
      NOTE: These shipping rates are subject to change without notice, owing to fluctuations in the US Dollar exchange rate and fuel surcharges.

  • I do not live in New Zealand, Australia or the United Kingdom - do I have to pay any extra charges other than the freight charges?

    • Our prices listed exclude any import duty or local taxes that may be payable on delivery. Any such charges are the responsibility of the customer. BIOZONE delivery is by airmail, airfreight or courier to your door - if you have to pay import duty you will be contacted prior to delivery and quoted by the freight forwarder (and payment should be made to the freight forwarder at time of delivery).

  • How do I find out what import duty may be payable before placing an order?

    • Import duty is not paid on educational publications in some countries. However to check on whether this applies to your country of residence please contact your local Customs and Excise office.

  • If import duty is charged, who do I pay it to?

    • BIOZONE delivery is by airmail, airfreight or courier to your door - if you have to pay import duty you will be contacted prior to delivery and quoted by the freight forwarder (and payment should be made to the freight forwarder - prior to or at time of delivery).

STUDENT DISCOUNT
  • What is the difference between the student discount price and the full purchase price?

    • We have two prices for our course workbooks:

      Full purchase price:

      this is charged when the school intends to keep the course workbook for use for more than one year (and for use by more than one student).

      We don't recommend this as our Course Workbooks are revised regularly and new editions are published annually or biennially (approx. 5% of the content is revised). However we offer this as an alternative to schools unable to buy for each student due to budget restraints.

      Student discount price:

      this is charged when ownership of the Course Workbooks resides with the students (they write in them and keep them at the end of the year). The school may act as an agent, purchasing the workbooks on behalf of the students. A minimum of 5 workbooks of the same title must be purchased to qualify for this discount.

      The intent of this discount is to provide each new intake of students with the latest editions at an affordable price.

  • Is there a student discount price for the Modular Workbooks?

    • No. There is one price only, regardless of the quantity purchased

  • I am a student - can I make a credit card purchase online at the student discounted price?

    • No, our credit card facility only offers Course Workbooks at the full purchase price. The student discount price is only available for purchases made directly from a BIOZONE sales office and a minimum of 5 workbooks of the same title must be purchased (if outside Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom).
